Sr. Manager, Payroll
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
• Compile and calculate statistical and payroll data from a variety of sources (e.g. time sheets/payroll,
salary adjustments, tax deposits, benefits, etc.) in order to accurately and timely process payroll and
comply with local, state, and federal wage and hour laws, as well as company policies.
• Work with Human Resources to formulate and implement policies on payroll matters such as
garnishments, FMLA, and new employee benefits to ensure policies are administered correctly and
consistently.
• Prepare employee communications, with stakeholder input, as needed.
Ensure organizational compliance and provide guidance to Managers on how to stay current and
compliant with payroll and payroll tax requirements.
• Maintain payroll exceptions on payroll files and obtain proper approvals for compliance audit.
• Request manual checks/stop payments when necessary. Reconcile outstanding checks.
Resolve payroll, benefit information, and documentation discrepancies (payroll, benefit provider/s,
withholding versus W4, salary status, etc.) to ensure record and payment accuracy.
• Determine payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security
taxes and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments.
• Assist auditors for the purpose of providing supporting documentation and/or information on
internal process that is required for audit.
• Maintain a wide variety of payroll information, files and records for the purpose of ensuring the
availability of documentation and compliance with established policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Respond to inquiries regarding payroll procedures (wage levy, garnishment, contribution, saving,
direct deposit, etc.) for the purpose of providing necessary information for making decisions, assisting
employees, taking appropriate action and/or complying with established fiscal guidelines.
• Maintain knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree or Payroll Certification required.
• Five to Seven years of related payroll experience required.
• Payroll Management experience required.
• Multi-unit restaurant payroll experience preferred.
